Job Title: Teacher
Mission & PurposeTo teach assigned classes that are Christ-centered and offers superior education academically, spiritually, and socially in a structured, positive environment.
Job Responsibilities/Expectations:1. Follow school procedures and policies in administrative and educational matters that are set by the principal and board approved policies and procedures as outlined in school handbooks.
2. Be accountable for lesson planning based upon the curriculum standards adopted by the school and recommended in the written school curriculum.
3. Be responsible for daily instruction of students, focusing on learning goals and objectives.
4. Be accountable to meet the minimum learning objectives for the grade levels taught: to teach, test and re-teach by a variety of materials and resources suitable to the learning situation until reasonable mastery is achieved; to inform the principal in situations where reasonable mastery of the goals is not achieved.
5. Be responsible for observations, evaluations, testing, reporting, conferencing, and record keeping of each student.
6. Be responsible for the organization of classroom structure and daily orderly maintenance of the classroom environment.
7. Maintain an attractive environment conducive and related to the educational process and the units and themes being taught.
8. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, parents, & the community.
9. Be responsible for classroom discipline and student management in keeping with the school discipline policy.
10. Keep daily plans in easy access if a substitute is needed. Keep a current, updated substitute file of general information of schedule and seating is also required.
11. Keep weekly lesson plans and regularly update grades and attendance in Schoolworx.
12. Be responsible for the safety and health of students in the classroom.
13. Be responsible to attend all staff and in-service meetings.
14. Be accountable to participate in parent/family school events as scheduled or requested by the principal.
15. Be responsible to assist in planning and implementation of school programs and special events.
16. Be responsible to set up classroom prior to the opening of school as well as year-end clean-up of classroom.
17. Be responsible to communicate to parents regularly.
18. Be responsible for timely planning of supply needs and informing the principal of these needs.
19. Conduct oneself in a professional and Christian manner both in and out of the classroom.
20. Be supportive of the Clay County Christian Academy's Philosophy of Education and Statement of Faith.
21. Practice daily your God-given skills in evangelism and discipleship in the classroom with students, parents, and community.
22. Be at the school at 7:20 am until 3:00 p.m. or as assigned by the principal.
23. Fulfill other related duties as outlined in the staff handbook and/or assigned by administration.
